Welcome to CLA!

We are glad you’re here, and we think you’ll like what you discover. California Lutheran Academy is a choice set apart from other K–12 options you may be considering. Here, you’ll find:

  • An education centered on Christ, where faith is woven into learning and students are grounded in biblical truth while growing academically and personally.
  • A community strengthened through relationships, where students are known, supported, and encouraged by caring teachers, staff, and peers.
  • A foundation that equips students to rise, preparing them academically, socially, and spiritually to meet future challenges with confidence and purpose.

California Lutheran Academy welcomes families from many backgrounds. While a Christian background is not required for admission, our curriculum and daily life are shaped by God’s Word. The truth of Scripture guides our teaching, and the grace found in Christ guides our interactions.

We hope you’ll come to see how we equip students to rise in every stage of their journey. We look forward to meeting you soon!

Our Mission

California Lutheran Academy exists to teach God’s truth, nurture Christ-centered relationships, and prepare students to live with wisdom and purpose.

Centered on Christ | Supported through Relationships | Equipped to Rise

“During my four years at CLHS, I’ve appreciated the family that I have here, despite being away from my real family during the week. Whether it be in the dorms or at school, the close community of people here made the weeks away a lot easier. I also appreciated the teachers who go above and beyond in everything they do to ensure success for my classmates and me. Most of all, I’ve appreciated getting to grow in my faith in a Christian learning environment.”

Our Educational Philosophy

Equipped to Rise reflects our commitment to preparing students for lives of meaningful impact. We accomplish this by:

Challenging with Purpose

We believe students rise best when learning is intentional, meaningful, and appropriately challenging. Our academic program sets high expectations while promoting curiosity, resilience, and a love of learning. We guide students to think critically, engage deeply with content, and embrace challenges as part of the growth process.

Personalizing the Journey

We recognize that students grow at different rates and benefit from instruction that meets their individual needs. Our smaller class sizes and relational culture allow teachers to respond to individual needs through differentiation, timely feedback, and research-based instruction. Students are known and actively supported as they grow.

Preparing for Impact

We prepare students to use what they’ve learned beyond the classroom. Our academic program emphasizes real-world application, cross-disciplinary thinking, and the development of transferable skills. We want students to graduate ready to contribute as they lead, collaborate, and solve problems in a rapidly changing world.

Statement of Belief

Thank you for considering California Lutheran Academy for your son or daughter! We are pleased and privileged to serve your family. We are passionate about our mission and thrilled to share the joy of Jesus with our students.

The mission of California Lutheran Academy is very spiritual in nature. In addition to offering a well-rounded education, we want every one of our students to learn more about God’s Word and Jesus Christ. At CLA, spiritual matters are more than a class or a daily devotion. Lessons from God’s Word are an integral part of everything we teach and do.

Please refer to our Statement of Belief, which outlines what we at CLA believe and teach. It is important to us that you have a clear understanding of how we will spiritually serve your son or daughter with the truths of God’s Word.
